While architects finalized interior designs, more than a dozen truckloads of structural steel arrived Monday and Tuesday on the construction site of Downstream Casino Resort at the Three-States Corner outside of Joplin.

The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma will host a groundbreaking celebration and news conference related to its Downstream Casino Resort. Significant updates will be announced, and we will provide aerial photo opportunities by hot air balloon, featuring the view from the top of the hotel. A number of VIP guests are expected.

Construction is under way on the Quapaw Tribe’s Downstream Casino Resort located at the Three-States Corner where Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas converge near Interstate 44. Projected opening is Summer 2008.

CHAIRMAN BERREY COMMENDS TUESDAY’S CHEROKEE COUNTY GAMBLING VOTE AND PICKS UP APPLICATION

Chairman John Berrey of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma will pick up an application for a gaming license in Cherokee County, Kan., today. He applauded and congratulated the citizens of Cherokee County for their approval Tuesday of a gambling referendum to allow casinos.

UPSCALE CASINO RESORT AT THREE-STATES AREA TO OPEN JULY 2008

The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma is building an upscale casino resort at the three-states area where Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri meet, which will pump millions of dollars into the region’s economy by providing high-paying jobs and making heavy purchases of goods and services from local suppliers.
